· Garrett Soil Conservation District

One of the main responsibilities of the Garrett Soil Conservation District is the review and approval of erosion and sediment control plans as required by the State sediment control law. This law requires that prior to initiating any activity that disturbs more than 5,000 square feet or involving more than 100 cubic yards of earth, that an erosion and sediment control
plan be submitted to and approved by the local soil conservation district. Call 301-334-6981.

The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce provides support for small businesses and the tourism industry, making this membership organization of 700 a unique engine for economic growth in Maryland. Call 301-387-4386.
